Man held for derogatory comments against CM
TNN | Updated: Jan 10, 2019, 00:05 ISTT’puram: Pallickal police arrested a man, who allegedly posted derogatory remarks against chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Devaswom minister Kadakampally Surendran and women who participated in Women’s Wall, on Wednesday.
The arrested has been identified as Unnikrishnan K (48) residing at Ayanikattukonam, Madavoor. According to Pallickal police, Unnikrishnan who posted the derogatory content was apprehended from his residence on Wednesday morning. He was later released on bail.
There are strict orders from state police chief Loknath Behra to take action against those who spread religious hatred via social media and other means.
Police have noticed content which spread religious hatred through messages, public speeches and videos. The Cyber Cell is actively monitoring the scenario and police have warned that there will be strict action against those who are found guilty of indulging in such activities.
On directions from Thiruvananthapuram rural police commissioner P Asok Kumar, a team led by Pallickal SHO V Gangaprasad made the arrest. tnn
