Vasantholsavam from tomorrow
TNN | Updated: Jan 10, 2019, 00:07 ISTThiruvananthapuram: The state tourism department’s 10-day annual flower show, titled ‘Vasantholsavam-2019’, will begin on Kanakakkunnu Palace premises on Friday. Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the show at a function to be held in front of Kanakakkunnu Palace at 5pm on Friday.
The show will feature more than 10,000 types of flowers.
As many as 12 institutions and 10 nurseries, besides individuals, will take part in the show, and among the main participants are TBGRI (Tropical Botanic Garden and Research Institute), Kerala Agricultural University, KFRI, Secretariat, Museum and Zoo, KIRTADS, Legislative Assembly and VSSC.
The entry will be free for children aged below five years, while Rs 20 will be charged for children aged between five and 12 years and Rs 50 for others. For a group of school students (maximum of 50 students), the total ticket cost will be Rs 500.
The tickets are available through nine branches of Kerala State Cooperative Bank. Besides, the bank will open 10 ticket counters near the Kanakakkunnu main entrance starting from Friday, and the show will be open from 10am to 8pm. tnn
