Banker hit with 121 fraud charges after company card spending spree

An ANZ bank employee has appeared in court on 121 fraud charges after allegedly misusing a company credit card repeatedly during a month-long spending spree.

Among the purchases allegedly made by Ryan Tonycliffe Walker, 36, were 83 separate credit card charges across multiple days at Brisbane nightclub The Beat.

The case was heard in Brisbane Arrest Court after Mr Walker was arrested on November 29 and charged with 121 counts of dishonest application of property of another by an employee.

Police allege Mr Walker made the fraudulent purchases using the ANZ card between May 16 and June 16.

Mr Walker has been accused of using the card on 83 separate occasions at The Beat in Fortitude Valley and making seven purchases at Brewhouse Brisbane in Woolloongabba.

Court documents allege he wracked up the remaining credit card charges at Sorrento Apartments in West End and the commercial tower at 324 Queen Street, which includes an ANZ branch.

Mr Walker was given bail on Tuesday and the matter will return to Brisbane Arrests Court for a mention on February 5.
