Odisha OPSC recruitment 2019: Apply for 1950 Assistant Surgeon posts in Group A

NEW DELHI: The Odisha Public Service Commission has invited applications from the prospective candidates for the recruitment to the post of Medical Officers (Assistant Surgeon) in Group - A (Junior Branch) of the Odisha Medical & Health Services Cadre under Health & Family Welfare Department.

Interested and eligible candidates can apply through the Proforma Application, which will be available on the official website - http://opsconline.gov.in - from January 10, 2019 to January 31, 2019.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

1) MBBS or equivalent degree form a Medical College or Medical Institution recognised by the Medical Council of India

2) Must have a valid registration certificate under the Odisha Medical "Registration Rules 1965

3) Possessed required conversion certificates recognised by Medical Council of India (MCI) in case of candidate having degrees from Universities of Foreign countries

PAY SCALE

The OPSC to fill 1950 vacancies in the pay matrix of Level 12, Cell - 1 of Rs 56,100/- 1 of ORSP, 2017 Pay Band - 3 in the pre-revised scale of pay of Rs 16,600-39,100/- + G.P Rs 5400/- under ORSP Rules, 2008) with usual dearness and other allowances as may be sanctioned by the Government of Odisha from time to time.

According to the notification, if the number of eligible women candidates belonging to any particular category is not sufficient then the vacancies or the remaining vacancies will be filled up by the male candidates of that category.

AGE LIMIT (as on January 1, 2019)


A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not be above 32 years i.e., he/she must have been born not earlier than January 2, 1987 and not later than January 1, 1998.

AGE RELAXATION

Five years for the candidates belonging to SC/ST/Women/Ex-Servicemen
Ten Years for the candidates belonging to Physically Handicapped category, whose permanent disability is 40% or more.


EXAMINATION FEE


For general category candidates: Rs 500/-

Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe of Odisha and Persons with Disability (whose permanent disability is 40% and more) are exempted from payment of the fee.


SELECTION PROCESS


The selection of candidates for recruitment to the posts of Medical Officers (Assistant Surgeon) will be made on the basis of written test. The written examination shall be one paper of 200 marks which shall be of multiple choices (MCQ patterns).
