BJP to put party flags in over 1 crores homes
Pankaj Shah | TNN | Jan 9, 2019, 19:16 ISTLUCKNOW: Escalating its drive to connect with people ahead of Lok Sabha elections, the UP BJP has come up with yet another ambitious plan to post party flags and stickers in at least 1 crore households of Uttar Pradesh.
The decision was taken at a party meeting headed by organisation secretary Sunil Bansal on Tuesday. As part of the drive, proposed to be called as `Apna Parivar BJP Parivar’, party functionaries would fan out across the state, meet people and get a party flag hoisted in their homes.
“We need to get people associated with the party and its organisation. It is only when people get associated with the party they would get align with the party ideology,’’ said Bansal.
He claimed that of the 22 crore people benefited by the various government schemes, three crores are in UP. ``The benefits of the scheme has been given without discrimination,’’ he said.
The BJP getting into an overdrive to connect with the people comes amid SP and BSP forging an alliance to take on the BJP in Uttar Pradesh ahead of the Lok Sabha elections due in the next few months.
The said drive also comes close on the heels of the proposed Kamal Jyoti Abhiyan proposed next month where in BJP functionaries would light up lotus shaped earthen lamps in households benefited by NDA government schemes.
