JEE Main 2019 exam analysis: Students say paper was tough

NEW DELHI: The Joint Entrance Examination - Main (JEE Main 2019) for admission to courses in architectural engineering was conducted today, January 9, 2019.

The National Testing Agency will conduct the JEE Main examination till January 16 in over 10 shifts. The exam from this year has become completely computer-based and is being conducted twice a year (January and April). This is the first time the National Testing Agency, under the ministry of HRD, will be conducting the JEE.


Those successful in the JEE will be eligible for admission to to undergraduate engineering and architecture programmes at NITs, IIITs, other centrally funded technical institutions (CFTI), several other institutes and can appear for the IIT's JEE (Advanced) exam. An aspirant can take both the tests - JEE (Main 1 and Main 2) and his/ her best score will be taken into account in the final merit list.


The students who appeared for the JEE Main 2019 exam today found the paper typical and tough. For many aspirants, Mathematics was the toughest sections while others claimed that they found physical chemistry questions lengthy. Some of the students said that the question paper was moderately difficult.
