It's awfully hard to jump into a series like Berlin Station, a dense, multi-layered look at the world of American spooks in Europe where rabbit holes appear around every corner and the digital world is the new locked briefcase.

The first season saw the Berlin-based CIA team following a trail to a whistleblower; the second followed the rise of a far-right German political party. And now season three takes the action to Estonia and the sceptre of a resurgent Russian leader's territorial plans regarding that vulnerable country. Chisel-jawed lead Daniel Miller (Richard Armitage) is busy chasing his theory about a possible upcoming invasion while also pursuing personal revenge for his mother's death. Hey, it's complicated.
