Army Chief Bipin Rawat on Wednesday, highlighting negative side of the social media, said that radicalisation through online platform is becoming one of the reasons for raising funds for terrorists organisations.

Addressing the audience at Riasina Dialogue in New Delhi, General Rawat said Kashmiri youth is getting radicalised due to misinformation and falsehood about religion being fed to them.

"Biggest issue is that the social media needs to ensure that radicalisation does not happen through false information and misinformation. Radicalisation through social media is becoming one of the reasons for raising funds for terrorists organisations," the army chief said.

Speaking about the new tools available to the radicals, General Rawat said radicalising youth through social media is becoming a form of warfare.
