The Kerala High Court on Wednesday reserved its order on a bail petition moved by three accused in the case relating to the murder of Abhimanyu, an SFI activist at Maharaja’s College.
Meanwhile, the police moved a petition before the court for revoking the bail granted by the sessions court to Riyas, the sixth accused in the case. According to the prosecution, trial of the case would be affected if the accused remained on bail. Besides, the sixth accused had played a key role in the crime. A meeting was held at his house to hatch the conspiracy to murder Abhimanyu.
When the bail petition filed by third accused Riyas Hussain, fourth accused Bilal Saji, fifth accused Farook Amani came up for hearing, the prosecution submitted that it would also seek cancellation of the bail granted to Abdul Nazar, the seventh accused as well. If the accused were released on bail, it would be very difficult for the police to arrest the absconding accused.
