Old Marathi songs relived at ‘Jaagar Maaybolicha’

Nagpur: Musical performances in the second part of ‘Jaagar Maaybolicha’, organized as part of the silver jubilee celebrations of Avishkar Kala Sanstha, enthralled the audience at Narayani Hall, Sancheti Public School, Wardha Road, on Monday.
Noted anchor Renuka Deshkar was the chief guest of the programme in which students of the academy performed super-hit old songs in Marathi to entertain hundreds of people present.
The evening commenced with the soulful rendition of legendary Lata Mangeshkar’s ‘Prem swarup aai’ to celebrate a mother’s unconditional love. The song was presented by Smita Joshi, founder of the academy. Pratiksha Pattalwar followed her with ‘Hee vaat dur jaate’.
Other songs presented were ‘Kadhi re yeshil tu’, ‘Chandane shimpit jashi’, ‘Sahaj tula gupit ek’, ‘Tinhi sanja sakhe milalya’, ‘Gard sabhoti’, ‘Ashi kal nagini sakhe ga vairin jhali nadi’, ‘Dhund madhumati raat re’, ‘Reshmachya reghanni’, ‘Bai bai manmoracha’, ‘Visarsheel khaas mala’, ‘Tula pahate re’, ‘Saang tu majhach na’, ‘Prema kaay deu tula and ‘Nahi kashi mhanu tula’.
The singers also presented ‘Arey khopyamadhi khopya’, ‘Keliche sukle baag’, ‘Kadidaar kapuri paan’, ‘Ka re durava’, ‘Kaay bai sangu’ and ‘Patang udwit hote’.
The show concluded with the chorus performances on ‘Aaj gokulat rang’ by Ketki Pathe, Swati Dhule and Kavita Warade, and ‘Ne majsi ne’ by Smita Pandit, Archana Padegaokar, Janhavi Haridas and Shirish Pande.
The singers included Jayshree Lule, Sneha Jog, Bharti Bhide, Alka Chande, Sarita Bhonsule, Sugandha Garve, Seema Naik, Radhika Patrikar, Shraddha Haridas, Rashmi Kolhe, Anita Lohit, Alka Bonde, Mohini Deshpande, Preeta Bansod, Swapna Kulat, Keerti Bokre and Anupama Nirmade.
The accompanying artistes were Parimal Joshi (keyboard), Amar Shende (violin), Pande (harmonium), Pankaj Yadav and Rajesh Darwade (tabla) and Vishal Dahasahastra (octopad).
The programme was coordinated by Ravi Joshi and hosted by Bhavna Paturkar. The event was conceptualized by Smita Joshi.
