Files complaint with women commission against headmaster

A woman teacher at the Zilla Parishad High School in Tadikal of Shankarpatnam has approached the Telangana State Commission for Women with allegations of mental harassment against the school headmaster.

The school assistant (social studies) has sought protection to work in a safe environment and discharge duties without any fear or humiliation. In her complaint, a copy of which was released to the media here on Tuesday, P. Geetha has accused headmaster V. Raji Reddy of causing mental agony following her popularity among students for her philanthropic activities and distribution of sanitary napkins to girls.

The headmaster was unable to digest her popularity and started harassing her by making frequent visits to her class and humiliating her in front of other teachers, Ms. Geetha said. The headmaster stopped her annual increment and denied childcare leave despite ensuring good results in the SSC exams during her three-year stint in the school, she added.

Stating that she was forced to approach the women commission as her complaint to district authorities yielded no response. DEO officials, on their part, said they had ordered the Shankarpatnam MPDO to conduct an inquiry. After getting the report, disciplinary action would be initiated, the officials added.
