PATIALA: The city police are still struggling to find traces of a 10-year-old boy, who was reported missing one week ago.

“We are investigating the matter thoroughly. The boy had gone missing one week ago, however, the caretaker of the boy reported the matter only on Monday. Following his plaint, we immediately formed teams to search the boy,” said station house officer Rahul Kaushal.

He said that a case under wrongful confinment and various sections of Indian Penal Code was registered immediately.

It has been learned that the boy who is missing was adopted from Barnala. “I adopted the boy four years ago. The boy lost his mother a few months after his birth. His father was a truck driver and couldn’t take care of the child,” said the complainant, Surinder Singh, who was taking care of the boy for the last four years.

“The boy’s biological father was employed as a truck driver with my in-laws. We decided to take care of the boy. My own son is of the same age as the missing boy. On January 2, I had gone out along with my wife and he was alone in the house. I am suspicious if the boy has been wrongfully confined,” said the caretaker.
