Man enters guilty pleas entered in 'indecent act' case

A 62-year-old man charged over a string of indecent acts across Perth has pleaded guilty to several charges, including some which relate to children.

Geoffrey Robert Boyd was arrested in Cranbrook near Albany in late October.

Perth detectives arrested him after issuing a public appeal for information over a series of alleged indecent acts across numerous Perth suburbs, including Rockingham, Nedlands, Subiaco and Applecross.

At the time of his arrest police said the alleged incidents occurred in café type businesses in view of customers.

Boyd was charged with two counts of indecently dealing with a child over 13 and under 16 and nine counts of indecent act with intent to insult or offend any person.

Boyd appeared in the Perth Magistrates Court on Wednesday via video link from Albany prison.

He pleaded guilty to both of the indecent dealing with a child charges and one of the indecent act charges.

The court heard the indecent dealing offences happened in Nedlands on September 27 and related to children aged 14.

The indecent act to which he pleaded guilty to also occurred in Nedlands on October 17, the court was told.

Those charges will next be heard in the District Court on March 8. A pre-sentence report and a psychological report was ordered ahead of that hearing.

Further outstanding charges were put off to a committal mention date on March 20.

He was remanded in custody.
