Promotions for Armed Reserve police personnel soon, says DGP

The State government was duty bound to ensure good working atmosphere for the police force with state-of-the-art police stations, said Home Minister and Deputy Chief Minister Nimmakayala Chinarajappa here on Tuesday.

Formally inaugurating a police station at Erramanchi village in Penukonda mandal close to the KIA Automobiles factory, he said the government had started construction of 75 police stations and of them 50 had been completed. “Only when welfare of police personnel is taken care of, the quality of policing will improve and law and order maintained,” the Minister said.

Use of technology also must go hand in hand to improve the efficacy of the police force and improve recovery in theft cases. About 6,000 constables were recruited earlier and currently process was going on to take another 3,000 constables and SIs, he added.

Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu took care to bring the Krishna water to Anantapur district and today it was topping all districts in horticulture production. It had come to such a position that even exports were being done in horticulture sector, the Minister said.

New vehicles

Director General of Police R.P. Thakur, participating in the inaugural of a model police station at Kanaganapalli in Raptadu constituency of Anantapur district, said 1,400 vehicles were inducted in the State to improve policing.

Police personnel should get good encouragement and very soon Armed Reserve police personnel would also be given promotions after 15 years, he added.

MLA B.K. Parthasarathi, Women’s Welfare Minister Paritala Sunitha and Collector G. Veerapandian were among those present.
