Missing boy's body found in well

CHENNAI: A 17-year-old boy who went missing from his house on Friday was found dead in a dilapidated well at Guduvancherry on Monday morning. Police said it was a case of drowning.
Police said Ganapathy, son of Ezhumalai, a resident of Thaimookambikai Nagar was a Class XII student at a private school in Tamabram. Ganapathy returned home on January 4 after finishing his school. He, however, left soon after informing his parents that he was on his way to meet friends.
His parents who enquired with his friends lodged a complaint with the Vandalur police when he did not return. Meanwhile, police received an information about a body found in a dilapidated well near Guduvancherry-Madambakkam Road. Police identified the body to be that of Ganapathy with the help of his friends.
Police who sent the body for a postmortem to Chengalpet Government Hospital are questioning his friends.
