Ujjain: Denizens on Monday woke up to foggy morning as cold wave swept the region after a pleasant Sunday. Chilly winds with a speed of 6 kilometer per hour swept the city causing sudden drop in temperature. Fog caused poor visibility on Indore road, Dewas road and other areas of the city remained till 10 am.
All vehicle drivers drove their vehicle with head light on due to poor visibility and fog. Dense fog was also seen on the banks of the river Kshipra and railway tracks. City recorded maximum temperature 21.5 degree Celsius which was 26 degree Celsius on Sunday and he minimum temperature on Monday was 9.8 degree Celsius.
According to weatherman of Government Jiwajirao observatory, further fall in temperature is likely in next couple of days due to cold winds coming from northern parts of the country and fresh snow fall in Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. The drop in temperature affected normal life of city dwellers. People organised bonfire to keep themselves from biting cold at many places in the morning and evening. Chilly weather forced people to drape themselves in woolens the whole day.
