The city will host the 32nd Congress of the International Seed Testing Association (ISTA) from June 26 to July 3.
The week-long meeting will feature participation of over 200 seed companies from across the globe and 400 delegates from abroad. The focus would be on new products, seed processing, treatment and equipment. In addition to experts in seed testing technology, small and medium entrepreneurs from 50 developing countries would participate in the congress being organised in association with the Food and Agriculture Organisation.
Chief Secretary S.K. Joshi reviewed the arrangements being made for the congress with senior officials on Tuesday and released a brochure on international seed exhibition being organised in connection with the congress in the presence of ISTA secretary general Andreas Wais and others. senior officials.
According to an official release, after the inaugural on June 26, the congress would feature three-day symposium on seeds and related issues and this would be followed by the ISTA’s annual conference. The officials concerned were directed to ensure that accommodation and security arrangements were provided to all the delegates.
