The January transfer window is well and truly up and running in the blue half of Merseyside, in today’s newspapers at least!
Everton are yet to make a move in the transfer market but there are four names linked with moves to Goodison, while a further four have been linked with departures. Marcel Brands did hint it was a case of one in, one out this month!
Here’s what’s doing the rounds today involving Everton as reported by the Liverpool Echo.
Denis Suarez

Who? Another Barcelona star! Denis Suarez, the Catalan’s 25-year-old midfielder who has struggled to break into the first team at the Nou Camp.
Where? The Spain international has already been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal this month, but Sport claim that Everton are keen after Suarez apparently snubbed West Ham United.
What? Everton obviously have good relations with Barcelona at the moment, having signed Andre Gomes, Lucas Digne and Yerry Mina from the club in the summer. All talk at the moment but potentially one to watch.
Bruno Fernandes

Who? 24-year-old Portuguese midfielder Bruno Fernandes, who plays for Sporting Lisbon.
Where? Portuguese publication A Bola, who are known for linking many of the country’s top stars with moves to the Premier League. They’ve already linked him to Everton once this month.
What? Sure, Marco Silva will know all about him, especially as he’s already notched an impressive 14 goals this season. However, said report is now claiming they face competition from Liverpool.
Andrija Zivkovic

Who? Benfica’s 22-year-old Serbian winger who Everton have been linked with in the past.
Where? Portuguese newspaper Record, cited by Sport Witness, claim the Blues had scouts at Benfica’s recent 4-2 victory over Rio Ave. While they are unsure who Everton were watching, Zivkovic was suggested following his previous links. For the record, the winger came off the bench and claimed an assist.
What? Such guesswork seems a little tenuous even for January.
Thiago Mendes

Who? Lille’s 26-year-old holding midfielder from Brazil.
Where? Telefoot in France. They claim Idrissa Gueye is set to join Paris Saint-German, and Everton have targeted Mendes as a possible replacement, along with yesterday’s gossip returnee, Wilmar Barrios.
What? Links to holding midfielders seems to be a recurring pattern for Everton at the moment. Well Gueye hasn’t gone anywhere. Yet at least.
Idrissa Gueye

Who? Everton’s Senegalese holding midfielder.
Where? Telefoot in France again. See above.
What? Apparently he’s edging closer to a move to Paris Saint-Germain. Yet the same report claims the two sides remain some distance apart in their valuations. Make up you minds, lads.
Oumar Niasse

Who? Everton’s out-of-favour striker who has repeatedly been linked with a move away from Goodison and looks set to finally move on to pastures new.
Where? The Evening Standard are linking him with Crystal Palace (who else) again, suggesting the Senegal international is seen as an alternative to Dominic Solanke.
What? It wouldn’t be a surprise.
Joe Williams

Who? 22-year-old midfielder currently on loan at Bolton Wanderers.
Where? A regular for Phil Parkinson’s side, The Bolton News claim the midfielder has been set for a permanent £1m move to Bristol City before a thigh tendon injury left his future up in the air.
What? Williams is currently waiting to hear back from Everton on what they plan to do next.
Bolton have the option of matching Bristol City’s bid but their current financial issues make that unlikely, suggesting he’ll either stay at the club on loan or complete the move to the Robins.
Tyias Browning

Who? Everton’s 24-year-old out-of-favour defender who spent last season on loan at Sunderland.
Where? Previously of interest to Aston Villa, Sky Sports are now suggesting that deal won’t happen after the Villans turned their attentions to Wolves defender Kortney Hause.
What? You’d imagine Browning will still look to depart Goodison this month, even if a move to Villa is now off the table.
