Ujjain: Ujjain Municipal Corporation (UMC) has started a special ward wise cleanliness campaign in which it deployed 60 employees per ward. On Monday the campaign was conducted in ward numbers 5, 6, 25, 36, 38 and 44 from 2 pm to 5pm.
Mayor inaugurates campaign The cleanliness campaign was inaugurated by mayor Meena Jonwal who also took stock of the arrangements of cleanliness by inspecting different wards of the city.
On this occasion mayor -in -council member Dr Yogeshwari Rathore, Durga Choudhary, Buddhiprakash Soni, Rajkaml Lalaawat, Santosh Yadav, Rajshri Joshi, Nisha Sengar, Sarika Baghela were also present. Jonwal meets school students Mayor Meena Jonwal met students of Gyan Sagar Girls’ Academy during a programme and shared the cleanliness campaign to inspire them for promoting cleanliness.
The mayor asked some questions also from the students and told them to make effort to achieve a 7 star rating for the city in cleanliness survey to be held soon. The mayor also appreciated efforts of school students for making useful items of waste materials. On this occasion MIC member Geeta Choudhary, assistant commissioner BK Sharma, principal Manjima Pandla, Meenakshi Shamra, Megha Gupta and Gajendra Singh were also present in the programme.
