AHMEDABAD: A 15-year-old teenage boy, Jaykumar Maurya, ran away from his house on Saturday in New Ambikanagar in Isanapur just because his foster father did not buy him a smartphone and bike. Maurya’s foster father Munnilal Maurya has lodged a missing persons complaint at Isanpur police station.
Munnilal who works in a private company has mentioned in his complaint that as he had no issues he had adapted his younger brother Kailash Maurya’s son Jaykumar and had got the adoption registered.
Police sources said a few days ago, Jaykumar who is studying in class 10 wanted a smartphone and a bike from his foster father. “Munnilal reprimanded him and said if he passes class 12, he will get him both. He also asked the boy to concentrate on studies,” said a police official.
Police sources said that on the same day, the boy left the house on the pretext of meeting one of his friends, but he didn’t return. “After a thorough search failed to trace the boy, Munnilal approached us. We have sought help of the crime branch and formed teams to search for the boy,” said an Isanpur police official.
