Strict conditions of Troy Mercanti's release from jail revealed
Former bikie Troy Mercanti has been released from jail under a strict supervision order which bans him from drinking alcohol, entering a bar, or associating with bikies.
The 51-year-old had been in prison for nearly seven years, serving time for bashing his former partner, Tammy Kingdon, the mother of his two sons.
It is understood Mr Mercanti was released from custody on January 2.
As part of his release, the Prisoners Review Board has issued him with a post-sentence supervision order which will require Mr Mercanti be supervised within the community for two years.
The order bans the former career bikie from associating with members of an outlaw motorcycle gang or having any contact with his former partner, Ms Kingdon.
He is also not allowed to drink alcohol or enter a licensed venue other than a cafe, restaurant, grocery store or sporting venue – meaning the ex-Coffin Cheater and Finks member cannot enter a bar or nightclub.
In 2007, Mr Mercanti was jailed for 28 months for punching a 26-year-old man in the jaw at the Geisha Bar in Northbridge.
His lawyer at the time argued people on occasion tried to "take on" Mr Mercanti to gain fame for themselves, due to his notoriety.
Under the supervision order Mr Mercanti will be subject to random breath testing and random urinalysis for illicit drugs.
Further conditions require he also start looking for a job or training immediately, and attend programmes and counselling, as directed.
He has previously told a court he worked as a goat farmer in Moore River, overseeing 400 goats on a property.
He is also banned from possessing a firearm, ammunition or any offensive or prohibited weapon without the appropriate licences.
Failure to adhere to the community order could see Mr Mercanti back behind bars for up to three years.
