NEW DELHI:
Infosys will consider issuing buyback and paying out
special dividend in its board meeting on January 11, the IT behemoth said on Tuesday.
Media reports in December has said that Infosys may go for a
share buyback of up to $1.6 billion at its January board meet.
The company will also announce its October-December quarter earnings on Friday.
The outlook on company’s BFSI, retail and performance of digital vertical are also among the key things to be watched for as after poor growth in BFSI in the first quarter, the vertical took off in the second quarter and the management indicated greenshoots in the segment.
Brokerages are not expecting any upbeat show from Infosys, highlighting concerns over appreciating rupee and the company's focus on growth against profitability.
Shares of the company closed 0.19 per cent down at Rs 669.85 on Tuesday, while the NSE Nifty index settled 0.36 per cent up at 35,980.93.
