MUMBAI: Fugitive gangster Dawood Ibrahim’s nephew Sohail Kaskar is likely to be deported to India from the US later this week. Sohail, who was 36-years-old when he was arrested by US authorities in Spain in 2014 on narco-terror charges, is the son of Dawood’s brother Noora who died of kidney failure in Pakistan in 2010.
With the gangster’s brother Iqbal Kaskar already in jail since his arrest from Nagpada last year, the deportation of a member of the D-family is being seen as a major jolt for Dawood. Mumbai police have already booked Sohail in two cases related to extortion and cheating.
Sources in the underworld told TOI that Sohail’s deportation, though a setback for Dawood, will not have any effect on the gang as the new generation of the family has kept away from crime.
