Two killed, 15 injured as tractor overturns

Chandrapur: Two people, including a woman and a teenage boy, were killed while 15 others were injured as a tractor trolley carrying them overturned near Cikhli village in Mul tehsil on Tuesday morning. The deceased and injured belong to Saoli town and were heading for a temple of patron deity in Jamsala village for veneration.
Sources claimed that marriage of one Maroti Shende’s daughter was finalized with a boy from Lengure family in Saoli. Families of bride and groom were taking their kin to temple of their patron deity Jamlai Mata. The group first went to a temple in Kanhargaon and then was headed for Jamsala in Sindewahi tehsil when the tractor trolley carrying them overturned while taking a turn near Cikhli.
60-year-old Bodhan Nikure and Chandan Rasse (15) were killed on the spot. Seven seriously injured devotees namely Sukhdev Wadhai, Dev Shende, Anurag Wadhai, Prakash Gurnule, Ajay Gavture, Manav Gavture and Anand Choudhari have been shifted to Chandrapur Government Medical College and Hospital for emergency treatment. Eight other injured having lesser injuries are being treated at rural hospital in Saoli, sources said. Mul police have registered a case against tractor driver for reckless driving.
