2019’s First Lamborghini Huracan EVO Revealed
How long will Lamborghini take until they reveal their next hypercar? Until then we will have to turn our attention to its 2019’s first launch of the year, the Huracan EVO. So, what’s different from the last Huracan that Lamborghini launched? First, let’s get the similarities out of the way.
Heart of the matter of the new EVO is that it matches the performance of the Performante with a 5.2-litre naturally aspirated V10 engine under the hood that produces 630bhp at 8,000rpm and 601Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm. It is also capable of reaching a top speed of 325kmph. And the Italians claim it accelerates from 0 to 100kmph in 2.9 seconds.
The 7-speed Lamborghini Dual Clutch transmission system remains the same and the power is sent to all the four wheels. An option to alter between the settings in EVO’s cockpit with an “Ego” setting selector in its Anima menu which is borrowed from its SUV cousin, the Urus. Apple CarPlay feature is integrated into its centre console, however, there is no mention of Android Auto yet by Lamborghini as the interior pictures aren’t revealed apparently.
Now, coming to the Lamborghiniesque of the Huracan EVO which is its aggressive exterior styling with those sharp lines. In addition to that, there is a revision of front and rear bumpers, a slight change in the positioning of the exhaust which has been shifted to the centre, along with pentagonal-shaped massive 20-inch Aesir rims, and interiors styled in Alcantara leather that comes in a carbon fibre material option called the Carbon Skin.
Moving on to the unique part about the Huracan EVO is its Lamborghini Dynamic Steering at the front wheels and Lamborghini All-wheel Steering at the rear wheels along with the help of Lamborghini’s supercomputer inside its cockpit, the Lamborghini Integrated Vehicle Dynamics system which will monitor the driver’s behaviour and improve the EVO’s dynamic performance. The question remains whether this will price cheaper than the track-focused Performante? I have a positive feeling that it would be, as the Huracan EVO’s tagline suggest, “Every Day Amplified.”
