Pune: The State government has granted another extension to Koregaon Bhima enquiry commission, which is probing last year’s violence at Koregaon Bhinma and surrounding areas during 200th commemoration of the famous battle there. The extension has been granted till May 8 this year.

About 400 persons have filed their affidavits. However, cross-examination of only three witnesses has been completed in the last four months.

CM Fadnavis had ordered a judicial commission to be set up to probe the violence. The State government appointed a two-member judicial commission headed by the former chief justice of Calcutta High Court justice Jai Narayan Patel and State Chief Secretary Sumit Mullick.
