NEW DELHI: Keeping his options open ahead of the general election, Odisha chief minister and BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik said on Tuesday that his party has not yet taken any decision on joining the mahagathbandhan of opposition parties even as he lashed out at Modi government for “betraying” farmers on MSP issue.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a protest against Centre by Odia farmers, Patnaik said, “As far as the mahagathbandhan is concerned, we have not taken any decision. We will take some time, think about it and then decide.” This is first time Patnaik has come to Delhi to lead a protest against the Modi government.
He also charged the Modi government for going back on its poll promise to implement Swaminathan Committee report to pay the minimum support price (MSP) at least 50% over and above the cost.
