Deceased police constable’s wife receives Rs 30 lakh insurance
Jan 9, 2019, 00:20 ISTCoimbatore: The family of a police constable, who died in a road accident last year, received Rs 30lakh insurance amount on Tuesday.
Inspector general of police K Periaiah and Axis Bank officials handed over the cheque to Suganthi, widow of P Periannan, who was working as a constable at the armed reserve police in Krishnagiri district.
The 29-year-old man met with an accident near Rettipatty bus stop last year and died without responding to treatment at the Salem Government Hospital.
Periannan is survived by Suganthi and his two-and-a-half-year-old daughter Athiksha. He had his salary account with Axis Bank. The bank gives Rs 30lakh free accident insurance to those in the uniformed services, sources said.
