TNN | Jan 9, 2019, 04:15 ISTNEW DELHI: Ministry of information and broadcasting has announced a 25% hike in existing advertisement rates for print media over existing rates being charged by the Bureau of Outreach and Communication. The decision comes into effect immediately and will remain valid for a period of three years.
The last revision of advertisement rates was done in 2013 when an increase of 19% was announced on the 2010 rates.
The decision was taken on the recommendations made by the ministry’s Rate Structure Committee, which took into account factors including increase in price of newsprint, processing charges and other factors that go into the computation of advertisement rates. In a statement, the ministry said the decision will benefit medium and small newspapers including a large number of papers in regional and vernacular languages. Tnn
