Gujarat BJP leader Jayanti Bhanushali shot dead in moving train

RAJKOT: Former MLA of Abdasa in Kutch in Gujarat and BJP leader Jayanti Bhanushali was shot dead in a moving train at 2am by some unknown assailant near Malia station. His family members alleged that his political rival Chabil Patel is responsible for this murder. The railway police formed an SIT to investigate this case.

According to railway police, Bhanushali was traveling in Sayaji Nagari Express which started from Bhuj and was going to Dadar in Mumbai. Bhanushali was traveling in first AC coach of the train and he was going to Ahmedabad. A co-passenger informed the ticket checker after seeing the blood. However, according to police no passenger has seen the assailants or heard the firing. He was shot between Kataria and Surbari station and he was taken to hospital when train reache Malia station in Morbi district. Doctors at the hospital declared him dead. The coach was removed at Ahmedabad railway station for further investigation.


The police primarily said that a co-passenger Pavan Maurya saw his body when he woke up at midnight and informed the railway staff. The police is interrogating him, but it’s believed that some professional sharp shooters are involved in this murder. He was shot in chest and on the face near the left eye when he was sleeping. Jayanti’s brother Shambhu Bhanushali alleged that “Chabil Patel had sent sharp shooters to kill my brother.”
