Pelosi and Schumer Call For Equal Airtime After Trump's Oval Office Address on Border Security

The top two Democrats in Congress are calling for equal airtime to address the nation after the ??President gives his speech on border security.

??House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer issued a joint statement saying quote, “Now that the television networks have decided to air the President’s address, which if his past statements are any indication will be full of malice and misinformation, Democrats must immediately be given equal airtime.” ??Trump will reportedly make the case for his wall to address “the crisis “ at the U.S./Mexico border.

??The White House said border patrol agents stopped nearly 4,000 quote, “known or suspected terrorists” at the border in 2018.

??Now...NBC News got its hands on data that said agents stopped just six migrants suspected of terrorism in the first half of 2018.

??The White House is demanding $5.6 billion for the wall before agreeing to end the ??partial government shutdown that has lasted more than two weeks.

??VP Mike Pence told reporters quote, “There is a humanitarian and national security crisis.” ??Adding the administration is looking at the possibility of declaring a national emergency…which would allow for the construction of the wall without congressional approval.

??The Oval Office speech will be his first as President...he’ll also follow that with a trip to the southern border.??
