The Central Bureau of Investigation director, along with his deputy, was redeemed to office as the CBI chief after he challenged the government’s move saying that he still has two years of service left. The government called it an essential step as both the top officials were fighting like “cats and dogs “and it was posing negative implications on the working of the CBI. The government said that there was no other measure that could stop the clash between the top guns of CBI. So the government decided to send both the officials on leave so as to calm down the matter.
It is to be mentioned that the selection committee comprises the Prime Minister, the Leader of Opposition and the Chief Justice of India.
