Bhopal, A Madhya Pradesh Congress Legislature Party meeting, conducted here on the eve of the maiden session of the state’s 15th Assembly, witnessed participation by the party’s 114 legislators besides two owing allegiance to the Bahujan Samaj Party, one belonging to the Samajwadi Party and four independents.
“The gathering – which commenced late evening and proceeded beyond 2100 hrs – was addressed by Chief Minister Kamal Nath. Discussions took place predominantly vis-a-vis the Vidhan Sabha session’s business and preparations for the next general election,” Congress state Media In-charge Shobha Ojha said.
The five-day session’s inaugural day is to witness Pro Tem Speaker Deepak Saxena administering oaths to members whereas the Speaker’s election and the Governor’s address are on the second day’s agenda.
