PATNA: Yuva RJD members will distribute ten lakh pamphlets across the state this month to tell people ‘how RJD chief Lalu Prasad was framed by the CBI in different cases’.
Yuva RJD state president Qari Sohaib said the four-page pamphlet also contains statement of exiled CBI director Alok Verma, who allegedly said his deputy Rakesh Asthana, PMO and Bihar deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi had worked together to book Lalu in the IRCTC scam.
“Our workers will also read out the pamphlet in each panchayat for those who cannot read. We will have a meeting in this regard on January 10 with party leaders at Tejashwi Prasad Yadav’s house,” Sohaib told TOI.
He also said their proposed dharna and protest march at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi scheduled on January 9 was cancelled because of cold weather. The dharna was proposed in support of demand for the release of Lalu, who is in jail in fodder scam cases.
RJD spokesperson Chitranjan Gagan said, “The Delhi programme has been cancelled because of extreme cold as well as cancellation or delay of trains. Organizing such a big event with no transport facility is difficult.”
The Yuva RJD had organized dharna at all its block and district party offices on December 26 as prelude to the proposed protest march on January 9. Lalu’s elder son Tej Pratap Yadav, who led a dharna at the RJD headquarters in Patna, had criticised the BJP and RSS for framing his father in cases.
Lalu’s three children — elder daughter Misa Bharti, younger son Tejashwi Prasad and Tej — active in politics were to attend the Delhi dharna. Sohaib said they would decide on another date soon.
