Share market update: Nifty Auto index up 1%; Tata Motors, M&M among top gainers
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index was trading 1.01 per cent up at 8898.60 around 10:31 am on Monday with most of its components trading in the green.
Shares of Tata Motors (up 3.33 per cent), Tata Motors (DVR) (up 3.06 per cent), Exide Industries (up 2.45 per cent) and Maruti Suzuki India (up 1.90 per cent) were the top gainers in the index.
Amara Raja Batteries (up 1.58 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra (up 0.99 per cent) and Eicher Motors (up 0.64 per cent) too were trading in the green.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 99.80 points at 10,827.15 while the BSE Sensex was up 344.8 points at 36,039.90.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 44 were trading in the green, while 6 were in the red.
Shares of Ashok Leyland, YES Bank, Tata Motors, SBI, Vedanta, ITC, Bank of Baroda, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, JSW Steel, Hindalco Inds., Bharti Infratel, Tata Steel, BHEL, Vodafone Idea and DLF were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
