Ex-GCA president Chetan Desai’s brother held under COFEPOSA Act

Mahesh Desai, brother of former president of Goa Cricket Association (GCA) Chetan Desai, was arrested by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) in Panaji on Monday evening and sent to Colvale jail, sources in Goa police said.

The sources said that the detention order was issued by DRI officials to detain Desai at the Colvale jail under Conservation of Foreign Exchange and Prevention of Smuggling Activities Act,

1974 (COFEPOSA). Desai was escorted by Goa police personnel, DRI officials and his advocate Arun D’Sa while being taken to the Colvale jail for detention.
