Bhopal: A police team comprising personnel from Kotwali and Bazaria police stations who went to arrest miscreants involved in loot and theft cases were attacked by their relatives. Women in Sikandari Sarai area near Bhopal railway station pelted stones on the police team on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday. Based on their inputs, police went to Mustafa Ki Chaal in Sikandari Sarai of Bazaria area to arrest two habitual offenders – Firoz Lootera and Shoaib Puncture – who were also involved in the theft case.

ASI Dileep Singh of Bazaria police station who was on night duty joined them and at around 1:30 am, the police team went to the house of Firoz near railway station. However, when they knocked the door and called Firoz by name, the women members of family present inside the house went upstairs and pelted stones from terrace on police team.
