The move to declare Vijay Mallya a fugitive economic offender should lead to concrete action against other such alleged economic offenders (Page 1, “In a first, Mallya declared a ‘fugitive economic offender’,” January 6). It is also hoped that the government will make public the names of all major bank defaulters and initiate strict recovery proceedings, including legal action where applicable.
