GURUGRAM: Around 20 people had a narrow escape on Saturday when a mini bus they were travelling in crashed into a foot overbridge (FOB) near Maharana Pratap Park close to Delhi-Gurugram expressway. Four passengers received minor injuries in the accident.
According to the passengers, the private bus was coming from Manesar and was heading towards IFFCO Chowk metro station. “The accident happened as our bus driver tried to save a bike rider who suddenly came in front of the bus. Near Maharana Pratap Park, our bus driver tried to overtake another bus when this biker came in front. To save him, the mini bus driver steered the bus and hit the FOB,” a passenger said.
A traffic policeman, who was stationed near the accident spot, said, “Two mini buses were coming from Manesar and heading towards IFFCO Chowk metro station. The bus which was moving ahead was not giving pass to the other one. While trying to overtake, the driver of the second bus lost control and hit the pillar of the FOB.”
“A case has been registered against the bus driver for negligent driving,” said head constable Anil of Sector 29 police station
