Ensure ration distribution to all eligible beneficiaries

Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal, Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Pradyuman Singh Tomar said that ration on low price should be ensured to all eligible beneficiaries under the provisions of the Food Security Act. Stringent action should be taken against responsible organizations and government employees in case of dereliction of duties.

Tomar was reviewing schemes of the department at Mantralaya today.Tomar mentioned that a target to provide food grains at low price to poor families and to include families, which are still deprived of such benefit, has been mentioned in the manifesto. Officers are required to prepare a detailed action plan in this connection within specific time limit.

Tomar further stated that vigilance committees should be reconstituted for each shop. More than one shop should not be operated by the same person. Arrangement should be put in order in rural areas with coordination of the Cooperative Department.

Moreover, Tomar also told officials to examine immediately one thousand pending applications of BPL beneficiaries of Gwalior Assembly Constituency of Gwalior District.

The Principal Secretary Smt. Neelam Shami Rao has informed that ration at low price is being provided to One crore 17 lakh families as per the census-2011 through 24 thousand 170 shops. She further informed that food grains are being distributed through Samagra ID and POS Machines to control black marketing.

Instructions have been given to distribute ration to beneficiaries with thumb impressions matching problem on the basis of slips on different days.
