AHMEDABAD: Even cops were baffled when a Thaltej resident approached them with a grievance that she was threatened with dire consequences by her neighbour’s daughter as she presumed that the complainant along with her family members were talking about their pet dog.

The complainant — Dipti Sardhara (40), a resident of Jay Ambenagar near Udgam School in Thaltej, said in her FIR with Vastrapur police that she works for an insurance firm from her home.

“My neighbour has a pet dog with them. On Saturday afternoon, I along with my son, mother-in-law and father-in-law were sitting in our house. At that time, the dog was barking a lot and I was talking about it with my son. Meanwhile, my neighbour Rajesh Gurjar’s son asked me and my son from his verandah on why were we talking about their pet dog,” said the complainant.

“Suddenly, Gurjar’s daughter Bhavini came outside and started scolding me, saying we shouldn’t say anything against the dog,” said the complainant, adding that the girl threatened her with dire consequences.

The complainant in her FIR stated that the girl abused her assuming that they talked something bad about the pet dog.

Vastrapur police registered a complaint against Bhavini Gurjar for allegedly abusing her neighbour and also under the charges of criminal intimidation.
