CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu youth welfare and sports development minister P Balakrishnan Reddy on Monday submitted his resignation letter to chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami. The move comes hours after a special court trying criminal cases against elected representatives convicted Reddy in a 1998 riot case and sentenced him to three years of imprisonment.
Reddy is the first minister to have been convicted by the special court.
