Photographer Tiaan Botha and Wheels24's Sean Parker rose early on a summer's morning to capture the splendid Volkswagen Arteon in Cape Town.

Sean Parker spent some much-needed quality time with Volkswagen's Arteon 2.0TDI R-Line. We look at what optional extras were fitted to the svelte sedan.

Launched in July 2018, the Arteon is the German automaker's flagship sedan and is available in three spec levels. Our model is powered by the frugal and refined diesel motor while it wears a handsome R-Line kit.

It retails for, sans options, at R649 900.

Standard equipment for the sticker price of 'our' Oryx White Pearl Arteon TDi R-Line offers:

Panoramic tilt/slide sunroof

Active Info Display: Multi-colour digital cockpit

Discover Pro Navigation: With Mapcare, App-Connect and Voice Control; 23cm touchscreen and gesture control – featuring two USB ports.
