Tomar conducts suprises inspection

Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal, Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Pradyuman Singh Tomar conducted surprise inspection of Prathmik Upbhokta Bhandars of Bhopal City today.

On finding irregularities, he instructed officers to suspend license and to hold an enquiry into items, found of inferior quality at the shop.

Minister Tomar said that no irregularities will be tolerated at all as ration is being supplied to poor from the ration shops. Tomar conducted surprise inspection of Nagina Mahila Prathmik Sahkari Upbhokta Bhandar situated in Bhim Nagar, Ward no. 31 of Bhopal city.

Tomar got the shop opened in his presence as it was found closed during the inspection. A complaint about distribution of inferior quality wheat and rice had been lodged by local residents. Even stock register was not maintained by the shop owner.

On complaint from local residents about thumb impression not being recorded on machine, Tomar gave instructions for sampling of items available at the shop and action against shop operator.

Minister Tomar also conducted surprise inspection of Mahila Prathmik Sahkari Upbhokta Bhandar of ward no. 23. Here again, he received complaint about distribution of inferior quality items and shop not being opened on time.

Instructions for action against both the shop operators were given by him to the Food Controller Smt. Jyoti Shah Narvariya.Minister Tomar mentioned that officers of the Food Department should conduct surprise inspection of Upbhokta Bhandars in all the districts of the state and ensure stringent action on finding irregularities.

He further stated that action against concerned officer will also be taken if negligence is found in ration distribution.
He gave instructions to change timings of ration shops in Bhopal from 8.00 a.m. in place of 9.00 a.m.
