India registers record breaking victory against Aussies by 2-1

Sydney: After decades of vigorous attempts, India has now finally defeated Aussies in their home country, registering a historic maiden series in Australia by breaking 72-years-old record.

For the first time in 72 years, Indian team visited Australia and ended up being on the right side of the score-line winning 2-1. Earlier, none of the Indian captains could taste the victory of India’s Test series win over Aussies in their home.

In the last 31 years, Australia was made to follow-on in their own backyard. Although India had the chance to do so in the 3rd test as well when India had a lead of 292 runs but Virat Kohli decided not to enforce the follow-on to give his bowlers some rest.

Cheteshwar Pujara achieves two awards

Indian skipper Cheteshwar Pujara, who made 193 runs in the Sydney Test, was declared as the ‘Man of the Match.’ Not only this, Pujara also received ‘Man of the Series’ award. Pujara scored 521 runs in a four-Test series.

India’s tour of victory in Australia

India won the first Test match by 31 runs in Adelaide. Australia returned with a 146-run victory in Perth in the second Test, but India won the third match in Melbourne with 137 runs and made a 2-1 lead in the series, which finally proved to be decisive.
