January is barely a week old and already the transfer rumours are flowing freely.

Everton are known to be actively searching for reinforcements this window, Marco Silva’s side sitting in 11th place in the Premier League.

Silva’s side do love a South American these days! What with Yerry Mina, Richarlison and Bernard currently wowing Goodison on a weekly basis, the Blues have been linked with a further two on Monday.

Plus a familiar face is dreaming of a return to the blue half of Merseyside.

Here Theo Squires look at what is doing the rounds involving Everton.

Eder Militao

Who? Eder Militao, Porto’s highly-rated Brazilian centre-back. The 20-year-old joined the club from Sao Paulo last summer and has made 21 appearances in Portugal so far this season.

Where? According to UOL Esporte in Brazil, Everton have been scouting the Brazilian, who can operate as a defender or as a defensive midfielder.

What? While there would have been work permit issues should an English club have moved for him in the summer, he is now a full Brazil international.

However, reports elsewhere suggest the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United and Real Madrid are also interested in landing his signature. There’s also the small matter of a supposed £42.5m release fee.

Wilmar Barrios

Robert Lewandowski of Poland is challenged by Wilmar Barrios during the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia group H match between Poland and Colombia

Who? A Colombian international who Everton have reportedly been tracking for some time, the holding midfielder is currently on the books at Boca Juniors and featured against England at last year’s World Cup - headbutting Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson.

Where? According to AS Argentina, the Blues are ready to make a move for Wilmar Barrios, and he could be willing to make the switch to Goodison Park now.

What? Available for a relatively modest fee, Everton could do with a bit more steel in midfield and the 25-year-old could be a solution. But don’t be getting your Barrios shirts printed up just yet!

Victor Anichebe

Who? Come on now, Big Vic needs no introduction.

Where? Instagram! Victor is dreaming of a return to Goodison. Replying to a fan, the forward said he would play for free to go back to Everton.

What? While Everton might need a striker, this one isn’t happening. Sorry Victor.
