Pune: The 13th edition of Kirloskar Vasundhara International Film Festival (KVIFF), which started on January 3, 2019, held various activities in the city to create environmental awareness.

As a part of the festival, a media interaction with Dr Gurudas Nulkar was held recently at Patrakar Bhavan. During the interaction, he highlighted the importance of awareness and emphasised on the ongoing eco-friendly way.

He said, “Green entrepreneurship should be encouraged and industries that are involved in the production should also evolve. If there are enough eco-friendly alternatives available for the present generation, there will not be any problems related to the environment.”

During the interaction, he also spoke about the recent plastic ban and said, “Just by imposing a plastic ban in the city with all legalities is not the option but instead it is very important to provide citizens with a stronger and sustainable alternative. If citizens have alternatives, they will respond positively to such change.”

He also explained the adverse impacts of river pollution and urged to empower the farmers by giving them options to produce better quality yield.
