Cape Town - Manchester United caretaker boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says he is looking forward to "a proper test" when his side takes on Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley next Sunday.

Solskjaer has a 100 percent record at the Old Trafford helm, having steered the Red Devils to five straight victories since replacing Jose Mourinho.

However, all five wins have come against less illustrious opponents and as such, Solskjaer wants to see how his side will perform against "the top boys".

The third-placed Spurs are on such side, having recorded the same number of wins as Manchester City, who are just two points clear of the London outfit in the Premier League standings.

"Spurs away at Wembley - that's a proper test," said Solskjaer. "We are looking forward to that one because that'll give me more of a reference on where we are against the top boys.

"We are not happy talking about fourth, fifth or sixth. In a year or two the club needs to move on and move up the table."

Solskjaer was also asked about the quality of United's opponents in their last five fixtures, and he insisted that they were all tough games.

He explained: "You go to Cardiff in the first game - it's never easy. And then at home you're expected to beat Bournemouth and Huddersfield.

"They're never easy games. We've lost points before [in those games], there's no easy games in the Premier League. Newcastle away - I thought that was a professional performance.

"And today, it's never easy when you make nine changes, but we still won all of them."
