Bodies of two girls recovered near railway track in Pratapgarh

ALLAHABAD: In a tragic incident, bodies of two girls were recovered under mysterious circumstances near Neema village railway track under the limits of Aspurdevsara police station of Pratapgarh district on Monday morning.

The girls have been identified as Archana Yadav (14) and Kavita Verma (16), residents of Kotlakhurd village in Sultanpur district. The school bags of both the victims were also found lying near the railway track.


Upon being alerted by locals, senior police officials including Additional SP ( Pratapgarh) rushed to the spot.


ASP Avanish Kumar Mishra told TOI, "We are conducting a thorough investigation. The bodies have also been sent for post mortem examination." He, however, said that the reason behind the incident was still unknown.


ASP further added, "Police have been probing as to how the slain girls studying in class IXth and XIth standard, had reached the railway track and whether they had committed suicide or murdered."
