Flat buyers whose annual income is up to Rs18 lakh can get subsidy of 3-6.5% in interest.
The exhibition will be held at the NMC head office between January 25 and 27.
Municipal commissioner Abhijit Bangar said people with annual income up to Rs6 lakh can get subsidy of 6.5% in interest in buying flats followed by 4.5% for income group of Rs6-12 lakh per annum and 3% for income group of Rs12-18 lakh per annum. “NMC and CREDAI will facilitate 30 stalls of 18 builders, eight banks and others at the exhibition. People can register under PMAY for subsidy, choose flat and finalize loan there itself,” he said.
CREDAI president Anil Nair said 2,000 flats are available with 18 builders. “Areas range from 30 sq mt (1BHK) to 60 sq mt (2 BHK). Cost starts from Rs10 lakh. People can get subsidy up to Rs2.67 lakh under PMAY,” he said.
The central government launched the subsidy in January 2017. Many purchased flats but none availed the subsidy as per NMC’s records.
NMC executive engineer Rajendra Rahate said 94,336 persons registered under PMAY from the city. “There are four components under PMAY. Subsidy in interest is available under component 2. 13,390 people have registered under this component. NMC urges all these applicants to visit the exhibition and avail the benefits,” he said.
Rahate added that applicants of remaining three components are also invited for the exhibition. “We are asking corporators to inform applicants about the exhibition. Information on how to avail benefits under all four components will be given at the spot,” he said.
Bangar said NMC is planning to construct 1,118 flats on its land at two locations (Nari and Wanjara).
As per NMC’s records, NIT’s schemes with 4,345 flats are under construction at Wathoda, Tarodikhurd and Wanjari. MHADA is coming up with 2,336 flats at Chikhli, Wanjari and Waddhamna.
Bangar also said a proposal to give Rs2.50 lakh to 113 slum-dwellers under PMAY was submitted to the government. “The plan for another 1,000 is in the final stage,” he said.
